Rehab
2012.01.24 - emma
When I first woke up in the evening after the operation I have to admit that I thought that I better shouldn’t gone through with it. The pain was excruciating! After one sweaty night full with pain killers I woke up at 6:00 am (36hrs since I had my last meal) hungry like never before! I rang the bell that had been place in my hand the night before and asked nicely if I was going to get some food today? Yes you will and I was happywith that:)
.
3hrs later the breakfast finally arrived. The nice nurse helped me to prepare two out of the three bread slices that were on my tray and left me alone with them and my cup of coffee with a straw… Two heavy arms that were attached two two just operated collarbones had to be used! After a bit of struggle I finally reached the breads and the taste was lovely, 15min later I was sitting there in my bed looking at the third piece. To eat it without butter and jam was a suggestion but would not taste just as good so I reached for the knife… 20min later breakfast was finished and I was happy – One of my first goals (to eat on my own) were already reached!
.
5hrs later I could leave the hospital and since then I have been taking small steps every day and I never thought that this was going to be me 5 days later:
.
The fight goes on…
