2011.09.28 - Emma
With the World Championships behind my back it took me a while before I could move on. Normally it only takes a day but still the race keeps replying in my head and it feels so weird that I could not finish up where I wanted! My body felt strong and good and the team spirit was really on top and for the first time Sweden were standing at the start with 7 girls. I really got a lot of help all the way and it was only on the last straight before the finish line that I had to take a bit too much wind, so when the real sprinting started I was done:( Shit that can happen and now it’s time to move on!
It’s ‘only’ a bike race Martin said and I guess he’s right! Just that we all wanted it so bad and all the supporters that were there for us really deserved a nice result…
Anyway I have two things that I will bring with me after this Championship and that is the awesome teamspirit that we had and the brilliant work that Madeleine Lindberg (coach) is doing for the national team and I have to say that the future really looks bright!
Back in Norway and happy to not touch my bike for some days…

Dear Emma, I’m sorry the race didn’t go as you had planned. Fortunately I was able to watch the whole race on BBC TV (Sadly It’s the only ladies race that is transmitted every year) and I was just blown away by the incredible athleticism of you and the other cyclists. To keep that speed up for lap after lap was phenomenal. Enjoy your rest.

Hoi Emma, Natuurlijk had jij en je omgeving je graag met eremetaal gezien, wij als supporter ook, maar het is zoals je zelf aangeeft maar een koers en het leven gaat verder. Nieuw seizoen, nieuwe kansen! Je ontgoocheling nu wegwerken en op naar andere en nieuwe successen. Ik was zaterdag aangenaam verrast te zien hoeveel zweedse supporters er rond het parcours waren om jou en je landgenotes aan te moedigen. Volgend seizoen zal ik er weer staan om je aan te moedigen. Tot dan. Ik heb Martin’s naam gezien in de cyclocrosskalender, dus wie weet kom ik jullie daar ergens tegen. Groetjes .
