2011.09.12 - Emma
The last two days in Holland was quit good for me considering my stiff body after the crash on stage #4. Saturdays stage ended up in a sprint that Vos won and I finished in the peloton.
.
The last stage was in the area around Valkenburg and had 15 hills in it, normally Cauberg should have been the finish but because of roadwork (preparations for next years Worlds) it had to be on another ålace.
Nederland Bloeit took control of the race by sending Gunnewijk in an early break that made us, Hitec and AADrink work to protect my 2nd place and Wild’s 3rd. For me it was very nice to see Sara Mustonen being back on track pulling the peloton like a moto:)
26km from the finish a smaller group (with me in it) bridged across to the three in the front and then Vos, Van Vleute and Gunnewijk could start their “game” leaving Vos going solo for the last 13 kilometers.
I finished on 3rd place with a good feeling in my body. Also happy to keep my 2nd in the GC!

A bit stress to get to Brussel in time for my flight back home to Norway and when I finally could crawl into bed I fell fast asleep! To wake up in my own house and to have a cup of coffee while reading the newspaper and to see the rain pouring down outside… What more do I need to say? *Me Like*
.
A visit to the chiropractor was another good thing today and on the roller this afternoon everything felt straight again:)
.
A week of preparations for the Worlds is ahead of me now and I’m more ready than ever!

Starkt kört under Holland runt.
