The last stages in the Giro was quite good for me and especially stage #9 that I spent in a breakaway. Probably that was my best chance for a stagewin but on the last 5km we got caught and once again I finished behind the best climbers and Vos took another win.
Tired after some very hard days I was happy to reach the last stage, a 16km TT that was very technical. One last effort and then Giro Donne was over… I really gave everything I could and I would say that I won a 2nd place on that last stage! Happy to step up on the podium again I was ready to go home… And to have another Cappuccino!

This time “home” was France and a visit at Tour de France and the popular Belgium TV program “Vive le Velo”.
So me and Marianne Vos that were their guests for stage #10 flew over and we really had a fantastic day. To see Contador make the jump to the front group right where we were standing was my “highpoint” of the day and of course to meet Karl van Nieuwkerke and to be guest at his show which you can find pieces of here.
And I have to say that I’m very impressed about the hard work that everyone in and around the program are putting down. All those “small” details really makes a big difference!

At the moment I’m back in Zingem, and my goal for these coming days is to rest and to load up my batteries before we hit the racingroads again on Monday.
Training, sleeping, visiting my osteopath, watching the Tour, massage… Everything is on my list!
