Yesterday we passed half way in the tour and how can you better celebrate it than with a crash?? Hmmm….that wasn’t really my plan to start with but when they crash just in front of you in the sprint it was totally unavoidable!
.
Here you can see the very spectacular video from the finish of stage 5. Think I have to see my self lucky with “only” bruised and sore hips and elbows. And when I woke up this morning my body was a bit more stiff than normal.
.
Besides from that the Giro has been good so far and some nice results have been taken, especially my 3rd place on the first stage. Today I also got to help Sara in the sprint and she could win a well deserved 4th place.
.
But tomorrow the real racing starts.
Have you ever heard about Motirolo? I hadn’t before I came here but obviously it is quit a hard and long climb and after tomorrow stage I will know if it is a new friend of mine or not!
.
After tomorrow stage it’s only 3 stages to go, two mountain stages with finish on top and one time trail on the last day… And of course some more pasta… Actually lots and lots of pasta!
.
On other thing that is very positive is that we have gotten a new team mate on the team, Tiffany Cromwell from Australia. Giro Donne is her first race with Team Hitec it works really well!
.
Sweet Dreams
