It seems like I have found my winning legs and that the sickness from last week didn’t affect me too much. After some days in bed and a team training Wednesday I felt ok again.
This weekend Team Hitec Products did two races.
Saturday we raced  “Fleche Wanzoise” in  Wanze. A national race or “kermis†as the Belgium’s refers to it, was the coldest race I can remember with only 2 degrees. About 90 girls at the start line and 7 from my team. With HTC-Highroad also on start it ended in a fight between us and them. Happy with having Sara Mustonen from my team in a 4 girl breakaway, my day was not that hard. I won the sprint in the peloton and ended 6th. Sara and Emilia Fahlin (HTC-Higroad) got fooled by their own cat and mouse game and the strong German Nutrixxion rider Anna Fisher won. Sara ended 3rd. I’m happy to see that my team mates also can produce podium places and it looks good for the coming races.
Sunday was the big day! For 2nd time in a row I won the “Omloop van het Hageland in Tielt-Wingeâ€. The UCI 1.2 race brought 170 starters and it must be one of the biggest pelotons this season. The race was very much controlled by my team mates and HTC-Higroad and offensive racing from one of the favorites Grace Verbeke. In the final we had for the second time Sara in the break, now with 8 riders. We wear not too sure of the win and I made a big effort crossing the 50 sec gap in the last climb 8km before the finish with another 3 riders. Some tactical game at the end and the group grow to a about 30 riders. The sprint I won with a bike length after kicking it off on 300m. Many thanks to my team mates who did a good job during the day!
