2009.05.27 - From one place to another…

Tour de l´Aude is over and I´m back home for a couple of days.
The Tour have been good for me and although I have been a bit frustrated during the week I´m happy that I choose to go there. Normally a stagerace like this always brings me in good form.
Ofcourse I had hoped for a stagewin during these ten days. Instead I had to go home with one 3rd place and two 4th places as best results. Ok but as you all know by now, I want more!

Back here in Norway now and I have a good feeling about Canada. Everyone say that the circuit will suit me and after watching the profile from the course I would say that to.
The race I will do with the Swedish National Team and the riders that are going are: Karin Aune, Veronica Andreasson, Jessica Kihlbom and me.

A long ride in the sun today and then I`m packing my bags again and tomorrow we are leaving.

2009.05.24 - Last day in l´Aude!

On yesterdays stage I took it a bit easier in a group further down in the peloton… Felt both good and strange to not be there an fight for it. But hopefully something good will come out of it.
Still so many races on my schedule this year.
Last stage today and then I head back to Norway for three days before leaving again for Canada and the World Cup in Montreal…

2009.05.22 - Report from l´Aude

Three stages to go before I head back to Norway again. The last days have been hard and especially yesterdays race in Osseja. The 14km climb was to long for me and  I had to let them go. In the finish Worrack, Armstrong and Haussler had more than 6 minutes on my group!

These coming days will also be hard so we will see what I can do…

2009.05.19 - New Hotel and 5th place on stage # 4

Changed the camping from the first days for a nice hotel this time. We stay now in a small village called Amelie Les Baines, just in the foot of the Pyrénées. Beautiful place and it is here that we have the stage for tomorrow.

In the stage today I was feeling good. And on the last climb I was in the group of 11 riders that took up the chase of Ina Teutenberg that had been away solo for a long time. After many attacks the group splitted and I ended up in the second one. Winning the sprint gave me a 5th place on the stage and I´m now on 10th place in the GC.

2009.05.18 - Lazy

Don´t feel like updating my website today… It´s never as nice as when you have done a really good race and have a good result to report.
But atleast it´s lovelly weather here in France and I have burned my arms and nose in the sun today. The first days I was struggeling in the hot weather but now I already feel like I´m getting used to it. Had a better feeling in the race today :) and was there in the end for the sprint. But I didn´t make it all the way… Crazy last corner and a crash that I managed to stay out of and finished 4th.

Besides from racing not much happens here. Every day is the same: breakfast, short ride on the bike, lunch, race, car to hotel, massage, dinner, internet, read/film and then sleep. Except from today when I had to repair my black pants that had a hole in it :) Always nice for a change!

So internet is done, now read and then sleep…

2009.05.17 - Stage #1

First really warm day of the year and I could notice that my body is not used to it. Struggeling a bit in the beginning but in the end it felt better. Finished 18th in the sprint after almost chrashing… and I´m still on 9th place in the GC.

Team Timetrail today and it will be difficult to keep up with the big teams…

2009.05.15 - Prologue 3,9km

The opening of Tour de ´l´Aude is done. A prologue of 3,9km in a lot of wind.
My legs felt good and I finished on 9th place, 7 sec after winning Linda Villumsen, Team Columbia Highroad.
Tomorrow it´s time for the first “real” stage.

2009.05.11 - Lost it…

Yesterdays World Cup in Bern was the hardest race for me so far this year.
The 4 laps and in total 138km and 1680 hm made that I lost the World Cup leading and the jersey that I just started to like so much…
Last time over the long climb Kirstin Armstrong attacked in the bottom. Both me and Marianne followed, first easily and the closer we got to the top the more my legs were screaming… 50m from the top Kirstin attacked again… and my screaming legs turned into blocked logs :( To watch them ride away was nothing I want to see again but atleast I gave everything. I just had to accept that they were 50 meters stronger this day.
From behind a group of 8 riders came and the uncontrolled chasing started, with the gap growing to the two escapers as a result. The only thing I could do was to stay concentrated for the sprint. Every point counts and a 5th place for me gave me a 2nd place in the overall World Cup, only five points behind Marianne.
So the fight continues… Next time will be in Montreal, Canada on the 31 of May.

But first Tour de l´Aude. 10 days of racing in France, starting from Friday…

2009.05.09 - Direct from Bern today.

I arrived Bern today and Swedish TV was here for a quick interview. This one you can see here.

Just realized that everyone that wanted to see the program from Norway had to move there… it only works from Norweigan networks :(

Hard and tough race tomorrow! So…

Sweet Dreams

2009.05.07 - Norweigan TV

A week in Norway have been perfect. Just the piece of relax in my life that I needed for the moment. Training on other roads again and to see Martin every day :) that gives extra energy for what´s coming up next.
World Cup no. 5 in Bern on Sunday and then Tour de l´Aude starts next Friday. So busy and hard program…

In the beginning of the week Norweigan Tv was here to make an interview with me and yesterday it was on Tv. You can see it here NRK.

So nice to see that the interest for me and what I´m performing is not only in Sweden!
