Saturday and Ronde van Het Nieuwsblad was ok. I had great legs and my whole team raced offensive. Already from the start we had control over the race. Over the first two hills “Kluisberg” and “Cote de Trieu” we all sat in the front and Petra pulled the speed up a bit. The peloton broke halfway in the race and coming into my favourite hill “Molenberg”  I attacked. Got away with Cantele and Visser. From behind they were chasing hard and just before we entered the cobblesection “Paddestraat” they were back. Then I attacked again. With everything on a long line I felt like I had the race in my hand. Then it happened, my pedal came off!! And suddenly the race was over for me… :(
A littlebit frustrated to have to finish the race with such good legs in the second group. Specially when it´s because of something that was not my fault.
Happy though about my team and how strong we were riding together. Heidi have done a good work preparing us for this seasone.
Ludevine was the best from RedSun Cycling Team on a 9th place.

Yesterday I had to get some frustration out. And as always Martin had a plan… some hours on the Ronde van Vlaanderen course behinde the car did good for my head 😉

  2. Jens says:

Bummer. But you got the bad luck out of the way and the gods will smile on you in De Ronde instead. I’m betting this year you come over the Kapelmuur first with two girls chasing you instead of the other way around……….

  3. Bart says:

just remember the good things and forget about bad luck…
focus on the next one and you’ll be just fine.
    good luck, Bart
