2008.09.10 - Emma
First sage of Tour de l’Ardeche ended in a group sprint. Emma was in a 10 man break at the end. In the last downhill she rode away with 5, there among Susanne Ljungskog. The break didn’t work well and were caught 2k from the finish. Emma attacked directly but Ljungskog and Cook was too strong and brought her back.
A 3rd place and most important; Good legs and a clear head!
Today its two stages; TT in the morning and a short stage in the afternoon. More to come….

Dear Emma, I have only started watching cycling this year on television starting with the Tour de France. I then got up early to watch the cycling from the Olympics and saw you win your silver medal. Fantastic. My wife now thinks I have gone cycling mad but she also enjoys watching the race on tv. I only wish I could see the trophee d’or and the tour of the Ardeche here in England. What shines out about you is your wonderful smile and your obvious joie de vivre. Your website is also the best I’ve ever seen. Good luck with all your races in the future. Derek Briggs
