2007.04.09 - Emma
Yesterday was a lovelly spring day with 20 degrees and sun. The blue sky and the dry cobbles made the Ronde van Flanderen to a very nice race. For me and my team it was an successful day.
My job was to help the best girls in the team, and I did all I could for them… includning giving away my last bottle in the heatness. Just before KapelMuur (which is the hardest hill with cobbles 20 km from the finish) I went down to the car and got water for my teammates and then I made sure that our best climber (Sofie Goor) was sitting in the front. When I saw that she was already sitting there I knew that I couldn´t do anything more for her and I could finish the race in the second group.
Sofie finished 9th and maybe now my teams luck have turned… “knock on wood” ![]()

Drenthe is coming up next, so on wednesday I´m going “home” to Hoogeveen (stayed there for four months in 2005).
Thursday and Sunday will be 1.1 races and then on the Saturday it will be a World Cup.
See you in Drenthe…
